Computer networks allow for file sharing from one computer to another. A network port is needed for each device with an Ethernet connection. This includes desktop computers, notebook computers, wireless access points, Control4 products like touchpanels, etc. Printer(s) can be added to the network via a print server. With a print server, the printers can be accessed from any network computer. New printers often come with an Ethernet jack and do not require a print server.

Optional:
A wireless network means you don't have to use a wire to connect a computer to another computer. This allows current homeowners to add (wireless) networking capabilities, with little or no retrofit cost. Range of the wireless network depends on construction of the home. Frame houses can get better range than concrete homes/condominums. 1/2" drywall is usually better than plaster walls. Encryption includes one or more of the following, MAC filtering, WEP 128bit, WPA, WPA2.

Gigabit networks upgrade the standard network of 10/100 Mbps to 1000 Mbps. This is recommended for clients with large file-sharing needs like CAD files, backup hard drives onto another computer. This can reduce the backup time by 10 fold. Other benifits include streaming video and is crucial for the latest computer gaming requirements.

We also can setup & configure new desktop and notebook (laptop) computers. Whether you own a computer that needs custom upgrades or you have purchased a new computer and need someone to install the software. CMCA also custom builds and/or purchase computers and include our 1 year warranty.
